Character costume analysis

Musa

Musa, the main character, is portrayed as a suicidal-minded man. He keeps on wearing a black hoodie during the entire film. This is a representation of his mind—dark, reclusive, and isolated. The hoodie is like a shield for Musa against the rest of the world, a symbol of his emotional isolation and inability to be open. The darker colors symbolize his desperation and heaviness of his mind.

Darren

Darren, the character who appears in Musa's imagination, also wears on a black hoodie. The fact that they have similar clothes adds a visual contrast between the two characters and further emphasizes that Darren is an imaginative creation. The identical clothes destroy the boundary between reality and fantasy, making it more uncertain what Darren's character is. Despite the fact that Darren is a guiding figure, his identical costume design actually hints that he has a relationship with Musa's mind.

Abbas

In contrast to Musa and Darren, Abbas, who is Musa's brother, is dressed in a proper shirt. This attire indicates Abbas's success and organized lifestyle as a sharp contrast to Musa's unorganized and struggling lifestyle. The proper shirt symbolizes professionalism and organization, as does the manner in which Abbas has his life together. This difference in attire adds complexity to the dynamic of the two brothers by symbolizing the growing emotional and lifestyle gap between them.
